　　“国际友谊日”定为每年的7月30日，它是联合国教科文组织提出的一项倡议，该倡议将“和平文化”定义为一系列价值观、态度和行为准则，其核心在于反对暴力，并通过从根源上解决问题来预防冲突。联合国大会于1997年通过了该倡议。

　　The International Day of Friendship is celebrated on July 30 each year, which is an initiative that follows on the proposal made by UNESCO defining the Culture of Peace as a set of values, attitudes and behaviours that reject violence and endeavour to prevent conflicts by addressing their root causes with a view to solving problems. It was then adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1997.

　　为纪念国际友谊日，联合国呼吁各国政府、国际组织和民间团体积极开展相关活动、项目及倡议，以促进不同文明间对话、增进团结互信、加强相互理解并推动和解，共同为国际社会的和平发展作出贡献。

　　To mark the International Day of Friendship, the UN encourages governments, international organizations and civil society groups to hold events, activities and initiatives that contribute to the efforts of the international community towards promoting a dialogue among civilizations, solidarity, mutual understanding and reconciliation.

　　Looking back on the journey, China’s achievements in various fields would not have been realized without the support of people from other countries. Numerous international friends have shared weal and woe with the Chinese people. Numerous foreign enterprises, institutions and individuals have actively participated in advancing China’s socialist modernization, thus achieving mutual benefits and making important contributions to promoting friendly exchanges and cooperation between China and other countries. We will always remember your important contributions to China and the sincere friendship that has been developed with the Chinese people.

　　Why do China and Africa have such a close relationship and such a deep bond of friendship? The key lies in an everlasting spirit of China-Africa friendship and cooperation forged between the two sides, characterized by sincere friendship and equality, mutual benefit and common development, fairness and justice, openness and inclusiveness, and progress with the times. This truly captures the story of China and Africa working together in good times and hardship over the past decades, and provides a source of strength for the continuous growth of friendly China-Africa relations.

　　We have promoted mutual political trust. We have signed the Treaty on Long-Term Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation and created a new model based on partnership and dialogue, rather than alliance or confrontation. We have supported each other on issues which involve our respective core interests and are of major concern to us. And we have provided reliable and strong support to each other in our pursuit of development.

　　6. 中方坚决反对霸权主义和强权政治，愿同周边邻国长期友好相处，共同维护地区持久和平，绝不寻求霸权，更不会以大欺小。

　　China opposes hegemony and power politics. It pursues long-term and friendly coexistence with its neighbors and plays its part in the common efforts to secure lasting peace in our region. China will never seek hegemony, still less will it abuse smaller countries.
