　　每年8月12日是国际青年日，该节日旨在呼吁国际社会关注青年议题，同时彰显青年作为全球社会重要合作伙伴的潜力。1991年，参加首届联合国世界青年论坛的各国青年代表在奥地利维也纳首次提出设立这一纪念日的倡议。论坛建议设立国际青年日，以便为联合国青年基金与青年组织的合作项目筹集资金、扩大宣传。

　　International Youth Day is commemorated every year on August 12, bringing youth issues to the attention of the international community and celebrating the potential of youth as partners in today’s global society. The idea for International Youth Day was proposed in 1991 by the young people who were gathered in Vienna, Austria, for the first session of the World Youth Forum of the United Nations System. The Forum recommended that an International Youth Day be declared, especially for fund-raising and promotional purposes, to support the United Nations Youth Fund in partnership with youth organizations.

　　For China’s youth in the new era, the timing is ideal to do great things since you have a vast stage to display your talents, and brighter prospects than ever before of realizing your dreams. At the ceremony marking the centenary of the Communist Party of China on July 1, 2021, representatives from the Communist Youth League and the Young Pioneers declared their commitment to building a strong country.

　　3.奋斗是青春最亮丽的底色，行动是青年最有效的磨砺。有责任有担当，青春才会闪光。青年是常为新的，最具创新热情，最具创新动力。党和人民事业发展离不开一代又一代有志青年的拼搏奉献。只有当青春同党和人民事业高度契合时，青春的光谱才会更广阔，青春的能量才能充分迸发。

　　Hard work paints a bright backdrop for a young life, and action is the best way for young people to hone their skills. Taking on responsibilities and showing commitment are what brighten the years of one’s youth. Young people are always pioneers who are most passionate about innovation and most motivated to innovate. The cause of the Party and the people would not have advanced without the endeavor and dedication of generations of young aspirants. Only when you people align your passion and vigor with the cause of the Party and the people, can you display your brilliance and apply your energy to the full.

　　On the new journey in the new era, China’s youth of all ethnic groups act as “spearheads and vital forces” in various fields such as scientific and technological innovation, rural revitalization, green development, social services, and defense of the country, responding to the call of the Party and the people.

　　We must be confident in our capacity to nurture talent, develop top-notch personnel and teams for innovation, and cultivate a reserve of young scientists and engineers who are internationally competitive. We should assign talent to suitable posts, and make sure they are managed, supported and rewarded in the right ways. We should promote competent young people, and give full play to their creativity and capacity for innovation. We must broaden our vision in selecting talent and put them in the right posts regardless of their background.

　　The youth represent hope and are the architects of the future. China always regards young people as the driving force of social development, and encourages them to unleash their youthful vitality when participating in and promoting the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.

　　Young people represent the future of both China and ASEAN. China will expand cooperation with ASEAN in vocational education and mutual recognition of diplomas, provide more China-ASEAN Young Leaders Scholarship opportunities, and organize events like youth camps.
